Identifying children at-risk of
developmental delay using a
screening tool
The Targeted Motor Control (TMC) is an evidence-based, quick, practical screening tool that can identify four-year-old children at-risk of developmental delay, in particular, motor delay.
TMC screening means that children at-risk of developmental delay can be identified early and referred on for further assessment and intervention, if appropriate. This means that outcomes for these children can be optimised.
Screen and be seen to maximise
every child’s potential.
Who can use it?
Early Learning Educators and Health professionals working with children.
When to use it?
TMC can be used for any child between 3 years 9 months to 4 years 5 months. TMC is not appropriate for children with confirmed significant motor impairment.
How to become a TMC user?
- Purchase a licence
- Watch the TMC demonstration video
- Watch and score the TMC scoring video
